Please note, St. JOHN Smithfield’s 30th birthday archival menu prices run from Monday to Friday only, 9th - 27th September, with weekend menus reflecting our regular, 2024 pricing.

Our menus are updated daily.

Menus will not go online until 11.00am for lunch and 5.00pm for supper.

Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver opened St. JOHN in October 1994. The former smokehouse, situated around the corner from London's Smithfield Market had fallen into serious disrepair since ham and bacon smoking ceased in 1967.

If you visit St. John you'll find the building pretty much as it was found. We've painted the walls white, installed a bar and a bakery in two of the chimneys, a kitchen and a dining room in the former packing rooms and a private room in the former loading bay and topped the bar with 20-foot high skylights.

Corkage

We do offer corkage if you'd like to bring in your own wine for which we charge £25.00 for a bottle, £35 for sparkling or dessert wine bottles, £45 for magnums of wine, and £70 for magnums of Champagne.

Cakeage

If you would like to bring a cake to the restaurant for a special occasion, which you would like served in place of a dessert we charge £5 per person.

Service Charge

A discretionary service charge of 12.50% is added to your bill, all of which is fully distributed to the team. No additional gratuities are expected but any card or cash tips you may choose to pay are also fully shared by the team. If you would prefer not to pay service charge, please let a member of staff know and this will be removed.
